Splices and Connectors - Expansion
Splice plates and connectors are fire-retardant polyester resin per ASTM E84 Class 1. Sufficient connector pairs with fasteners are automatically included with each shipment of straight sections and fittings. Extras must be ordered separately. Type 316 stainless steel is standard for fasteners, but nylon, fiberglass and fiberglass-encapsluated fasteners are optional.
| Allow for the thermal contraction and expansion in a cable tray installation. The length of the straight cable tray run and the temperature differential govern the number and spacing of expansion connectors. Expansion splice plates permit 1" of movement. | ||||||||||||
